UCC Quiz Bee 2026 Crowns Mathematics and Science Month’s Brightest Minds

SBS Emerges Champion; BES, SEAS, and SHES Complete the Winning Circle Knowledge, teamwork, and excellence took center stage as Union Christian College successfully held the UCC Quiz Bee 2026 on September 23, 2026, at the Oikumene Chapel, as one of the highlights of this year’s Mathematics and Science Month Celebration. Anchored on the theme, “Numbers Innovate, Science Elevates: Igniting UCCian Minds for a Smarter, Sustainable, and Better Future,” the academic competition brought together student representatives from the different schools of the College for an exciting battle of knowledge, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and teamwork. After a series of challenging rounds, the School of Business Sciences (SBS) emerged as the CHAMPION of the UCC Quiz Bee 2026. Representing SBS were Maria Nicole G. Calub, Sarah P. Ballan, and Michael Jude T. Narra, under the guidance of their coach, Mr. Wynn Dave M. Esperon. The Basic Education Schools (BES) secured 2nd Place, represented by Gabriel Brett J. Hipol, Yuri Padrigon, and Ayeza Vernize B. Subido, with Miss Jennifer V. Corpuz as their coach. Taking 3rd Place was the School of Education, Arts, and Sciences (SEAS), represented by Olivic Sean Vixen H. Corral, Rio Lawrenz R. Timbol, and Lynellah P. Bogais, under the mentorship of Miss Junica M. Dumaoang. The School of Health Sciences (SHES) earned 4th Place, represented by Queen Jewel W. Servitillo, John Elzon R. Ramos, and Jan Carlo R. Boy, with Mr. Ervill N. Villegas serving as their coach. More than determining who would bring home the championship, the UCC Quiz Bee 2026 provided an avenue for students to demonstrate their academic abilities, confidence, presence of mind, and collaborative spirit. Each participating team displayed determination and sportsmanship throughout the competition, making the event a meaningful celebration of learning. The activity also reflected the greater purpose of the Mathematics and Science Month Celebration—to encourage UCCians to appreciate the relevance of mathematics and science in understanding the world, addressing contemporary challenges, and creating innovative solutions for a smarter and more sustainable future.
