Centennial History Writing Contest
Grab the opportunity to tell the story of Union Christian College with your writing and research skills! Be the historian whose piece will be used to tell the history of our school!
I. CRITERIA
1. Comprehensiveness - 60%
2. Scholarship - 20%
3. Relevance and Resonance with the Centennial Theme - 10%
4. Readability - 10%
Total 100%
II. Contest Rules and Mechanics
v The contest is open to all bona fide students, alumni, employees including former employees or Board of Trustee of Union Christian College.
v The registration/entry fee of Php 200.00 shall be paid to the Chairman of the Committee or to his/her representative.
v The History of UCC may be written by an individual or by a group of Writers.
v The history writers may submit their piece to the Centennial History
Writing Contest Committee from November 2008 to January 2010.
v One UCC history writer will be proclaimed winner of the contest. Top five
UCC history writers will also be given cash prizes.
v A cash prize of Php 20,000 will be given to the best UCC historian/s.
Php 5,000 will be given as consolation prizes to the other top five UCC historian/s
v All the submitted history pieces would become the property of Union Christian College.
v The writers may use documents available to check their facts. Citing of
written whereabouts of UCC may be allowed, with proper citation or acknowledgment.
v The criteria for judging will be the following:

5 Consolation prizes - Php 2,000 each

III. GENERAL GUIDELINES
1. The competition will carry the theme of the centennial celebration, “UCC. . .”
2. The competition is open to all bona fide students, employees, alumni and Board of Trustees of Union Christian College.
3. The participants may submit their entries from January 2009 – November 2009.
4. The participants must confirm participation via SMS (09228916698) or thru e-mail at ghpb2004@yahoo.com. Confirmation must include the name of the writer/s, address, telephone # or cell phone #.)
UCC Centennial History Writing Contest Committee shall have the right to designate the persons who shall compose the Board of Judges. The Board’s decision shall be final and irrevocable.
