Load for A Cause Launched
Update July 2007
As Union Christian College is nearing from celebrating its 100th year as an educational institution in 2010, the administration launched Load for A Cause. This project aims to put up two centennial buildings that will be built in UCC grounds. The project targets all students and everyone in the campus to load their cellphones on loading centers located inside the school premises.

Students Prepare for Intramurals 2007
Update August 2007
The College Intramurals is one of the most anticipated events in the whole campus this school year. This activity is where students take a break from their academic performances and extend their skills on athletics and promote camaraderie among UCCians thru sports. As it is fast approaching, the different colleges and departments have already begun searching for players to represent their teams. Bonafide students of Union Christian College can participate in any event. Among the events that students should expect on September 5 to 7 at UCC Covered Court are the following: Basketball Men/Women, Volleyball Men/Women, Badminton Men/Women, Table Tennis Men/Women, Sepak Takraw, Long Jump, Throwing Events, Chess, Mr. and Ms. Intramurals and the Cheering Competition.
Acquaintance Party Bonds Computer Science Students
Update August 2007
The Computer Science Department held its annual acquaintance party last August 14, 2007 at the J1 Music Lounge. The said event was spearheaded by officers of the Student Body Organization of the department and the Computer Science Society(CoSS).
Mr. Robert Liwag, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, gave an inspiring message to everyone present in the said activity. He encouraged the students to prioritize their studies, be the best in their craft and lessen their vices.
The party was filled with joy and excitement as everyone applauded performances rendered by different computer science students. Students and faculty members danced together as they enjoyed the night.
More than 200 computer science students attended the said event. Mr. Vincent Canono and Mrs. Rhena Beth Caniyas are the advisers of the CS-SBO and CoSS, respectively.
College of Nursing Have Fun Amidst Storm "Egay"

The biggest gathering of students in Union Christian College didn't stop them from having fun even in a night of heavy rains brought by storm "Egay". Celebrating its acquaintance party at the Ortega Sports Center, the College of Nursing partied last August 17, 2007 with bands , student and faculty performances. The said celebration gave the nursing students the brake they needed and meet new friends in their department. This activity also welcomed the freshmen students from the college. Faculty members from the different levels attended the said affair.
PSITE REGION1 JEDI SEMINAR A SUCCESS
IT Educators coming from different private colleges and state universities from Region 1 and from Cavite attended the 5-day seminar on Java Education and Development Initiative (JEDI) - Phase 1 Training. The said event was held here in UCC last May 21-25, 2007.

Dr. Filemon Lagon InterCommercial Basketball Cup
Update February 2007
Union Christian College hosted the 1st Dr. Filemon L. Lagon Intercommercial Basketball Cup held at UCC Covered Court from December 8, 2006 to February 23, 2007.
The participating teams are the following: Holcim, Lorma Hospital, DPWH, Judiciary, LUECO, Bethany Hospital, Commission on Audit, Pag-Ibig, Philippine National Bank, and UCC. The championship game is between Judiciary (MTC & RTC) and LUECO. The championship game is best of 3 and is being held at the City Plaza.
As of this writing, UCC got the 3rd spot.

The Union Christian College students from the elementary, high school, and the college levels started the year with victory in academics as well as in extra-curricular activities. These are shown during the ASP Sportsfest for the Elementary, Press Conference for the High School, Star Search and the Campus King & Queen Search for the College.

UCC Chosen by CHEd for Nationwide Earthquake Drill
Update February 2007
UCC has been chosen by CHEd as the pilot school for the nationwide simultaneous nationwide earthquake drill. This endeavor is in consonance with the Presidential Directive on Earthquake and Disaster Preparedness and Management.
The earthquake drill was conducted last February 22, 2007. Participants of the said activity include all Colleges and High School levels and a selected group coming from the Elementary department. The activity was observed by Bureau of Fire Protection, Civil Defense Office and Philippine National Red Cross.
UCC Nursing Ranks 1st from 2001-05 Licensure Exams

Based from the recent report from the Professional Regulation Commission, among the private higher educational institution delivering the nursing course from the year 2001 to 2005, Union Christian College placed 1st in Region 1. See UHP Article
UCC Kids Level Up at the ASP Sportsfest
Update February 2007
The elementary department of Union Christian College excels not only in academics but also in sports. They leveled up during the Association of Private School's Sportsfest last January 30-31, 2007. The elementary boys and girls for volleyball emerged as champions in their respective divisions. The elementary department also proved UCC is a home of Chess masters as two pupils emerged as champions in this event. The winners are the following

Diurna Bags Awards
Update February 2007
Diurna, the official school paper of the High School department, recently came home with awards from the Regional Schools Press Conference held at San Carlos City, Pangasinan last January 8-11, 2007. The Diurna was adjudged with the best in news page and best overall layout. During the 12th Division Press Conference, the staffs bagged several awards:

UCC: Home of the Chess Masters in the Region
Update February 2007
The chess team of UCC proved to be the best not only in La Union but also in the whole region as they emerged overall champion at the recently concluded PRISAA Meet held at Urdaneta City last December 13 - 15, 2006. UCC emrges overall champion in the chess tournament. UCC Women's Team captured the overall championship title while the Men's Team placed 1st Runner Up. The Women's Team is composed of Marquette Agoo, Maricar Quezon, Sharjah Jardiel, and Michelle Lumague who all emerged board champions. The Men's Team - Welmer Lacbongan, Peter Esteban and Jayson Ducusin , bagged the gold in their respective boards, while Sherwin Bayacsan and John Montaρez got bronze in their respective bronze. All the women's team members will go the National PRISAA Games to be held in Ilo-Ilo come April, 2007 representing Team Region 1. The three gold medal winners of the Men's Team will also represent the Team Region 1 in the National PRISAA Games.
Bayacsan Seizes Chess Championship

Sherwin Bayacsan, a sophomore Computer Science student ,added another feather to his promising career in chess when he emerged as the champion during the Chess Tournament conducted by the Interschool Federation of Student Body Organization of San Fernando City held at Marcos Building, San Fernando City on January 20, 2007. He is coached by Asst. Prof.. Nelson Caroy.
Baclayan Represents Region 1 in the National Statistics Quiz

Jervy Baclayan, a freshman accountancy student of Union Christian College, represented the whole region in the Philippine Statistics Quiz - National Level held at Main Office of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas last December 4-6, 2006. During the Philippine Statistics Quiz - Regional Level held at Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas in San Fernando City last November 14, 2006, Baclayan bested all the delegates of higher educational institutions in the whole Ilocos region.
He was coached by Mrs. Vanessa Cayabyab, a mathematics teacher.
Baclayan is the first UCCian who went to the national level of the said affair.
